Windows 2000 and better provide service recovery actions that can be configured in the Windows Service Control Panel Applet. The recovery action is started only in case of a service terminated unexpectedly with an error.
If you set option On All Apps. Exit to "Service terminates (reporting an error to SCM)" NT Wrapper will terminate reporting the required error but only in case of all applications run by the current instance went down. Alternately you may recover a single application by setting option Restart Application to true. But this would disable/overrule the option above. The latter method is especially useful if the application does not survive a user logoff and must be turned back on again. |
