Changes
v1.2x
-> v1.3x-v1.4x
Standard version is capable to run in an user account without
extented rights.
Interactive NT service version is capable to send network files.
New GUI features allow easier managment of recipients and files.
For instance multiple-selections in grids, sort on column click,
new filter (by group membership), customizable and persistant column
layouts, sizable
windows,
context menus etc.
New option to specify a maximum e-mail message size.
FDM can create an appropriate amount of additional messages combining
as many files as fit in that space limitation into each message.
Single file attachments are not splitted up so message size may
exceed the limit nevertheless. In mode "Single ZIP" FDM creates
multiple ZIP archives accordingly.
New property MinSize.
If file size (in bytes) is smaller the file won't be sent (see Advanced
File Settings).
New help file.
Version 2.0 of strong file encryption introduced.
FDMCRYPT 2.0 released.
This step became necessary since we moved to an open source cryptografic
code base in order to be able to provide more transparency of security
related processes in FDM (see help file "Third Party Copyright Notes").
For an extra charge and on demand source code of FDM's interface
to that OSP cryptografic code base is available now. Note:
Public Keys created by FDMCRYPT 1x are no longer supported and therefore
MUST be exchanged.
Easy installation.
One setup program installs both FDM versions now. Setup also
detects whether BDE must be installed and can download and install
it for you. During installation a backup copy of an existing database
is made to a newly created subdirectory in folder Data.
Internal changes/fixes.
Field-length of field "To Addr" extended to 255 characters. Unfortunately
this breaks database backwards compatibility.
Temporary
files like ZIP files or encrypted files are now created in a temporary
subdirectory in FDM's program folder.
Some
anti-virus live protection software decreased e-mail transmission
rate heavily, fixed.
New
software protection.
